  • Flight from Lima to Arequipa. DAY 4: COLCA CANYON / PUNO (TITICACA LAKE)

  • Departure for a 7-hour bus ride to Puno. Begin your adventure in Titicaca Lake, the highest navigable lake in the world. Accommodations in Puno.

DAY 5: PUNO / TITICACA LAKE / UROS ISLANDS / TAQUILE ISLAND

  • Full-day motor-boat excursion on Lake Titicaca to visit the unique floating islands of the Uros. For hundreds of years, this "Water Tribe" has relied on totora reed to build their floating villages, modest homes and boats. DAY 6: PUNO / CUSCO

  • Prepare to enjoy views of Andean landscapes spotted with little villages and herds of llamas and alpacas as you drive to the Cusco area. On the way, visit the pyramid complex of Pucara and the Temple of Raqchi, a spectacular energetic sanctuary dedicated to the Creator God Wiracocha, and Andahuaylillas, a picturesque colonial village. DAY 7: CUSCO

  • Morning at leisure. In the afternoon explore this most magical city, capital of the Inca Empire (15th century) on a tour including Plaza Regocijo, Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, Santo Domingo Monastery -the legendary Korikancha Temple- and the old town. Drive out of the city to visit the Inca sites of Tambomachay, Kenko, Puca-Pucara and impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Accommodations in Cusco.

DAY 8: CUSCO / SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

  • Drive through the Sacred Valley of the Incas and visit the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo, strolling through the Inca living town where time seems to have stopped 500 years ago. DAY 9: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS / MACHU PICCHU / AGUAS CALIENTES

  • Transfer to Ollanta train station for Orient Express ' Vistadome train service to Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. Guided tour of the marvelous citadel, visiting the main plaza, the royal quarters, the Temple of Three Windows, the circular tower and the sacred Sun Dial and burial grounds. Salvador, Brazil: to Dinner Show, City Tour

Itinerary: 3 Days / 2 Nights

DAY 1: SALVADOR

  • Arrive at Salvador airport and transfer to the hotel. By Night with dinner and a show at Miguel Santana. The show takes place in the 18th century colonial complex Solar do União which had it's own church, manor house and slaves quarters, in the old stockrooms and is a showcase of the Candomble; the manculelê, a stick and sword dance from the cane fields; the dance of the caboclo, an Amerindian hunting dance; capoeira, a martial art/dance of Angolan origin and the samba de roda, a spinning, swirling version of this exuberant national dance. DAY 2: SALVADOR

  • A half day historical city tour. Discover the essencial sights of Salvador on a half day tour tracing the development of the city from its simple beginnings to the what is now the third largest city in Brazil. After hotel pick up with private Essential Salvador takes you to the mouth of the immense bay and then via elegant tree-lined avenues and bustling city streets to the Pelourinho, a Unesco Heritage site and the largest complex of colonial architecture in the South America. We leave the vehicle at the Muncipal Square, by the towering Lacerda Elevator, with great views of the bay stretching out to the lower city, and stroll through the narrow, bustling streets lined with buildings in pastel shades of an age gone by, soaking in the sights and sounds of this vibrant city. We visit the church of São Francisco with its exuberant gold-leafed Baroque interior and the Pelourinho square, the heart of the old town. Accommodations in Salvador.

DAY 3: SALVADOR

  • A full day Schooner Cruise. After our transfer from the hotel, we board a comfortable schooner and cruise to two of the 36 islands in this sparkling bay, a day of rest and relaxation with great views of the city both on the outbound and homeward journeys. Our first stop is Frades (or Monk's) Island. Virtually uninhabited, the island is home to some of the best beaches in the bay. Here we have ample time to swim in the warm inviting waters, or relax in the sun or the shade, and there is never a cold drink too far away! Then we continue our cruise to the larger Itaparica Island for lunch. The colonial town of Itaparica just a short distance by local transport for those interested visiting this charming waterfront town. Manaus, Brazil: to Amazon Eco Park Lodge in the Amazon
