Cejas Lagoon (Half Day)
Description
Leave San Pedro de Atacama, travelling across the Atacama salt flat, which stretches seemingly endlessly into the distance. The Cejas lagoon is an impressive natural phenomenon, with clear calypso coloured waters surrounded by salt crystals which form a thick crust around most of the edge of the lagoons. The formation is due to karstic dissolution and many flamingos stop here. There is a chance to bathe in the cool, salty water which helps one to float seemingly effortlessly.
